Tawny Owl

Tawny Owl, pastel 16″ x 12″/40 x 31cm.

I grew up in Ireland where Tawny Owls are completely absent, so it was really exciting to see these in England, and even more exciting to discover a pair nesting in the woods behind our house.

The original of this painting has sold, but fine art giclee prints are available from £25.

Red Squirrel, pastel 12″ x 12″/ 31 x 31 cm

Although there are a number of places in the UK where Red Squirrels are thriving I’ve yet to see one in the Peak District where I live. Hopefully they’ll continue to make a comeback thanks to the hard work of groups such as the Red Squirrel Survival Trust.

This original painting can be viewed on my website, and products featuring the image, including fine art prints are available.

Little Owl, pastel 12″ x 10″ / 31 x 25cm

Another Owl found in Britian and not found in Ireland, and one I haven’t seen and don’t think I could spot even if it was right under my nose! Many thanks to Claudia Brockman for use of her reference image.

This original painting can be viewed on my website, or fine art giclee prints are available from £25.

Red Foxes, pastel 12″ x 10″ / 31 x 25cm

This must be one of the most beautiful of all mammals found in Britain, and defintiely one of my favourites. The reference photo featuring this mum and cub snuggled up together in the undergrowth came from Lorraine Logan.

The original painting has recently sold, but products featuring the image, including fine art prints are available.
